Broke, Blonde Travels

First time solo traveller

About

Hey, I’m Aggie 🙂 And I am now in my lates 20’s, and some aspects of life have stressed me out to the point where I booked my one way ticket to South East Asia. Why there, you may ask? I’m familiar with it as I’ve been there before on a holiday, fell in love with every country and the hunger and itch to see more of them hasn’t left me since.
After deciding to quit my 9-5 corporate job (how typical), and shakingly clicking that ‘book ticket’ button, I thought that I want to document this trip. Mostly because I don’t have the best memory, and I often find myself looking at old photos on my phone and asking myself “what city was this in? In which temple? How long did it take to build that palace?”. And yes, I can just add notes to my phone, but I want to make it ✨pretty✨ and not just boring block of notes.

Even though I have been to Asia before, with different types of groups (scuba diving club, group of fellow students and friends) I have never actually been alone. I have travelled before alone, but to Poland to see family and friends in my home town, which I can now do the whole route with my eyes closed. But to Asia? Alone? Backpacking as a woman? First time.
How exciting is this? Some have told me that it’s crazy. And yes maybe a little, but what an adventure can this turn into, and I am all here for it. I want to feed my hunger and scratch that itch that’s been driving me nuts for years now.

So, I invite all women who are thinking about booking that solo trip. All late 20 something year olds, who are panicking about life, because their friends are buying houses, starting businesses and popping babies. And you’re just there, floating about and unsure what you should be doing. I am that person too and I have finally decided to take matters in my own hands, and finally cross something off MY bucket list. And do something for MYSELF. Join me friends, let’s live that life.
